NCCER Core is designed as a rigorous, competency-based, industry-recognized program for career and technical education. NCCER training programs, including Core, are designed to meet the Department of Labor’s office of apprenticeship requirements for time-based training and are modular in format, allowing for flexibility and custom task training. To earn a Core credential, students are required to complete both written tests and performance evaluations for each module.

NCCER’s Core credential is recognized throughout the country by the construction industry and meets Perkins funding requirements. For schools governed by the Florida Department of Education, 150 hours of knowledge and skills-based instruction are required.
